Myrtlle liqueur • Sweet liquor obtained from ripe berry myrtle, Myrtus communis, plants brought from India, which in Greek and Roman mythology was a symbol of love, and in Christian symbolics means conversion to Christ. In folk medicine myrtle were treated for bladder disease and respiratory organs diseases. Served also for producing balm for wounds and sunscreen. It is used as a flavoring additive to sweet dishes and jellies. Serve chilled.
